Hey everyone! Today I'm thrilled to share a review for Morlave's Return to Magic by Courtney Denelsbeck! This is the third book in the Morlave's Magical Adventures series, and if you've been following my reviews for any length of time, you'll know that I adore these books!

And this one did not disappoint.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Mysteries, deadly secrets, and a crush that won’t die.

Cornelius Morlave hasn’t heard from his friends in years and wonders if he'll ever see them again. Just as he begins to give up hope, his former bully Frax shows up, asking for his help.

Yortsed Academy has reopened, and from the outside, it seems successful. But something's not right with Bernard. As dangers and mysteries unfold, Morlave must decide who to believe. With the help of his friends, he sets out to uncover the truth and save Yortsed from looming danger.

But as he delves deeper into the secrets of the academy, Morlave struggles to balance his loyalty to Bernard with his growing feelings for Lilian, his first love. And with time running out, he must make a difficult choice that could not only affect the school and their friendships but also their safety.

Join Cornelius and his friends in the thrilling third installment of the Morlave's Magical Adventure series, filled with twists, romantic tension, and powerful magic. Fans of beloved tales like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson will love this epic adventure.

MY REVIEW

I read until my eyes ached and then I read some more, because I could not put it down. There's a time jump of a few years, and we catch up with some surprising news...Morlave's still trying to grow in strength with the God of Light, and figure out the mystery from the prior book in the series, and find his place in a world that feels like it's leaving him behind. The themes of loyalty over anything else, love over unforgiveness, and doing anything for your friends--poignant, important, and downright beautiful. It's impactful, there are edge-of-your-seat moments (a LOT of them), nods to earlier books, and an absolutely thrilling plot from start to finish. I'll be eagerly waiting the next book in the series. Pins and needles, to be precise.

I read an eARC for my review! All opinions are my own.
