REVIEW: NEVER SAY GOODBYE by Sarah Grace Grzy!

Tuesday, April 28, 2020

Hey everyone!

This Saturday - in case you don't already have the date circled a bunch of times with exclamation points and all on your calendar - is the release date for Sarah Grace Grzy's Never Say Goodbye!  I was super excited for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book, so I'm 100% here to gush with my honest (but super enthusiastic) review and talk about how much I cried over this  how heartfelt and absolutely awesome this book is.

This book's plot is - just...perfect, okay?  It can easily be read as a standalone or as a sequel to Live Without You, her freshman novel.  The plot moves at a steady pace and I found myself thinking about this book so much even when I wasn't reading it, that it legitimately bothered me to have to set it down to do things like...you know...eating, boring stuff like that.  You're immediately drawn to the characters and all you want to do is see a happy ending for all of them.  Ty and Alyvia are so realistic that it's like you're watching those events unfold right before you -- and of course, the great descriptions and prose help that as well.  The themes and messages of growth, family, and healing are so, so important -- and they're perfectly executed as well.  The character arcs move along at a realistic pace, and you just genuinely want to see them happy.  And can I say that Ty's little girl is written so well?  Lots of books have poorly-written kid characters that either act extremely mature for their age or completely baby-like, but this one strikes a great balance.  And the daddy-daughter dynamic in this book isn't one you see often, so it's a breath of fresh air into the genre of contemporary Christian fiction.  I could go on and on about this book, but I'd probably spoil it for you guys...so if you're into Christian fiction, especially sweet and well-written romance, this is definitely a book for you.  I have to say that, as a huge consumer of contemporary Christian romance novels, this one's gotta be in my top 10.  So...make sure to check it out!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kendra E. Ardnek is the self-proclaimed Arista of Fairy Tales.  She lives in the Piney Woods of East Texas with her dragon babies and massive herd of mini-giraffes, and she is still waiting for one of her fifty nutcrackers to come to life and marry her.  When not writing, you can usually find her sitting in a random box, and she's frequently known to act before she thinks.

REVEAL #2

Diamond - Kirsten Fichter

SYNOPSIS
This time, Rapunzel's not the one stuck in the tower, but the secrets he brings with him may cost her own life.
Diamond leads a quiet life with the woman she calls Mother. There isn't much to pass the time save for excursions in the forest and one-sided conversations with her pet rabbit, Hobie. Men are cruel beings who care only for themselves and must be avoided at any cost. After all, Diamond's own father gambled her away once. What other terrible fates might await her if people knew she existed?

Seth Stendahl is an alchemist with a middling proficiency in the Rohesian tongue. After growing up with and surviving six sisters, there shouldn't be anything too difficult for him to master - except maybe breaking his leg and being locked in the top of a ruined watchtower.

This is Rapunzel with a twist like you've never seen it before.

COVER REVEAL: THE CROWNLESS KING by Kara Linaburg!

Thursday, April 9, 2020

Hey everyone!  I'm super excited to share this post today.  This is another book that I'm gladly adding to my "insta-buy TBR" list, and I can't wait for its release.  The synopsis is fantastic, the cover is breathtaking, and...all I can say is that it's going to be awesome.  Without further ado, I'm excited to share the cover of Kara Linaburg's upcoming novel, The Crownless King!

SYNOPSIS

She won't meet her worst enemy on the battlefield...
War is brewing and the kingdom of Sindaleer is torn as the Knights of Norcir draw the folk to their side. When Sabriel, a specially Gifted, pledges her blood to their cause, she is ready to give all to bring the peace her leader promises. She understands Tirich's deep hatred toward the king, and has prepared for this moment nearly all her life.
But when her identity as a Knight is discovered by the childhood friend who betrayed her years ago, Sabriel's plans for justice come toppling down. Now distracted by what once was, Sabriel fights to hold onto what she's believed to be true for so long.

Nick never forgot the red-headed lass of years past, but she's not the friend he remembers. As enemies connected by their past take opposing sides on the battlefield, Nick refuses to believe what she's become.
Voices in Sabriel's head warning her she'll never succeed and loyalties torn, she begins to realize that all is not as it seems. Tirich's power is growing stronger, and she fears she was wrong about the good she once saw in him. The concluding book following The Broken Prince, reminds us of the inner wars we all face, and what it means to rise from the ashes when all hope feels lost.

The Crownless King, coming September 2020.

Purchase Kara Linaburg's debut story, The Broken Prince, on Amazon HERE.

(Can I just take a moment here to say how awesome this cover is?!  It's absolutely gorgeous, and goes along so well with the cover for The Broken Prince, too.)
