Week In Review: Cold, Cold, Cold, Cold...!

Hey everyone!  Been super busy lately-- training for work, school stuff, other commitments -- and more things kicking in next week!  I didn't post last Saturday  because I was helping my mother at a craft show.  And kind of hoping that some of the Christmas stuff wouldn't sell because it's too pretty.  Oops.  She has a Facebook page and an Etsy shop if you want to see some of the decorations I'm talking about.

This week was mostly a blur of realizing that I was, in no way, prepared for the sales I'm brewing for the shopping season.  I think I've remedied that for the most part, so if you have any of my books on your wish list, make sure to stick around!  That said, if you're also planning to offer sales anytime during the Christmas shopping season and would like help spreading the word, send me a link to your book(s) and your sale dates/prices, and I'll feature 'em on my social media feeds!  Just drop a note, comment, get the drill.

If you have any hot cocoa, feel free to send that my way too.  The wind chill was approaching the single digits this morning.

How's NaNoWriMo going for you guys?

Currently reading: I just finished Fallen Leaves by Tessa Emily Hall.  I haven't decided what to read next!

Currently writing: Nothing.  Ugh.  I've been too busy to write, although I have plenty of ideas I wish I could be working on...

Current Bible verse: "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

I'd also like to ask you to remember to pray for the wildfires in California.  Tens of thousands of people are being driven from their homes because of it.

Next week, tune in on Monday for an exciting post!  Through the remainder of 2018, I may start just sharing good articles I've found online, or photos on my social media, instead of writing  elaborate Wednesday posts.  Just too busy, but I still want to make sure you guys are still seeing good content!  Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see!

Okay...first round of Christmas sales: if you want a signed book, I officially stocked up my Etsy store, even with my newest release.  Code GIVINGSEASON will take 25% off your order!

Are you guys looking forward to Thanksgiving?  What's your favorite pie?  (For part of this week, I was convinced that Thanksgiving is next week instead of the week after, so I've had food on the brain...)

Week In Review: From Zero to Sixty

I wish I would have thought about taking a picture of my class to-do list this week before I started crossing things off, because it totally filled an entire copy page...with small handwriting. But the important thing is that it's done with.  Mostly. For another week.

Currently reading: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comics and Star Wars: The Last Jedi by Michael Reaves.  (Non-canon.) I'm also reading Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, partly for school and partly out of interest due to the Thor movies by Marvel (although it's Loki I'm reading up on).

Current projects: My Compass Home, formatting A Town Nativity for publication, and I'm getting ready to start play practices for my church's 150th anniversary play.  I honestly don't know how many words I wrote this week, but between this week and last, I filled half of a composition book and then wrote on the computer some as well, if that counts for anything.

Current Bible verse: Peace I leave with you, …

Blog Tour: Review of "Beyond Her Calling" by Kellyn Roth!

Hey everyone! Instead of the boring "writing tips" post that I had planned for you guys this week, I am excited to be reviewing Kellyn Roth's new release, Beyond Her Calling, as part of the her blog tour. This was a beautiful book and I loved pretty much every part of it. Let's get to it, then!
Beyond Her Calling "At twenty, Ivy Knight feels as if she hasn't accomplished anything of worth. Her life stretches on before her, empty and pointless. Though her faith in God and her mental abilities have strengthened, she still doubts herself. Does God have a purpose for a socially awkward, often confused and frightened young woman?
Jordy McAllen has just returned to Scotland after his education in London. Though he has accomplished a lot for a farm lad such as himself, he fears that what everyone has always said about him may be true: he won't really make a good doctor. Determined to prove himself, Jordy snatches up the opportunity to become the doctor in …
