MY REVIEW

The City and the Storm hits the ground running, and I loved that! It's slightly reminiscent of The Giver series with its own, overt sci-fi elements. Yet, it is also entirely its own, with unique worldbuilding that heavily influences the story around the main character, Zayne, and yet it's fairly easy to follow along without getting bogged down. It's the perfect blend of sci-fi with a touch of dystopian and a dose of cool, techy, and oppressive worldviews that make you question what's going to happen next and who you can (or cannot) trust. There's a lot of heart that went into this book, a lot of careful preparation and thought, and that's very apparent throughout the story. It kept me turning pages and wanting to read more! It's a solid 4.5 stars from me!
